About us

Giuppani Ingegneria is a multidisciplinary firm that mostly focuses on structural, infrastructure and energetic engineering.

For over 30 years, our firm has been able to offer full range services, including structural design, construction management, plant construction, the obtaining of marketing authorizations and fire certification, and finally prevention and protection for safety in the workplaces. We work for investors as well as construction companies and all our projects are carried out from conceptual design to site supervision: from the original idea, the choice of appropriate technology, site supervision, construction management, fire prevention to the final aspects.

History

The Engineering firm was founded by the engineer Giuppani Pietro in 1958 in Sondrio. In the same year, he designed the gondola “Teglio – Croce di Mezzo” which signed his professional ascent.

Nowadays the firm is carried on by the family: the son Piergiacomo, the grandchildren Simone and Federico. It has gained a considerable experience chasing a steady growth but still staying true to the firm original values.

Since 1958 Giuppani Ingegneria has obtained the technical management of all ropeways in the province of Sondrio. To date, the firm has been developed and now the staff is composed by five engineers.

Since 1977 Giuppani Ingegneria has been performing non-destructive testing, such as Magneto-inductive, Ultrasound, Magnetoscopic, Penetrant Liquid and Visual testing.

Since 1990 the firm has been involved in the construction management of more than 75 ropeways in northern Italy; in particular, we were involved in the construction management of different ropeways for ski world championship Bormio – Santa Caterina, for the Winter Olympic Games in Turin 2006, for ski world championship Cortina d'Ampezzo 2021 and for the Winter Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina 2026

Our main activity is not only restricted to ropeway design, but we also focus on the renewable energy sector.

In 2005 the firm received the commission to design the district heating installation using biomass in Santa Caterina Valfurva. Thanks to this complex project the firm has acquired great experience in this particular sector and in the following years it was given the task of designing a similar structure in Caspoggio/Lanzada.

For more than 30 years, Giuppani Ingegneria is strongly active in structural and geotechnical engineering, following the clients from the initial sketches to the final realization. Being this activity one of the main topics of our works, we do not limit ourselves to a specific domain: the firm has been able to offer full range services in this field, placing great value on the highest technology, quality with sustainability, and the individual wishes of the clients.
